30 October 2012 - Dried Apricot, Sultanas & Orange Rind

We had our first really warm day since last summer.
Will not need the quilt on the bed tonight.
Tomorrow's going to be warm and humid
until the cool change rolls in later in the day.

29 October 2012 - Lavender & Bay Leaves

While visiting my parents
I raided their garden
for lavender and bay leaves.
They're good gardeners!

28 October 2012 - Dried Apple Ring & Blanched Almonds

27 October 2012 - Chia Seed Roll

Catching up on posts
from an extended weekend away

Weis Pineapple & Coconut Bar

Served up for desert in one of Dad's quandong design bowls

I bought Weis Cafe Late Icecream Bars on Saturday
but they didn't last long enough to be
materials in a project!
(They come in boxes of 4)

Monday 22 October 2012

22 October 2012 - Pear

Clove eyes and coriander seed nose.

We're having fabulous warm Spring days
with nice cool nights for sleeping.

Sunday 21 October 2012

21 October 2012 - Dental Floss

Interesting to work with because it's waxy and sticks to itself.
The little circles were made by wrapping around a knitting needle.
The weather's getting warmer so it's time to start storing
waxy dental floss in the fridge.

20 October 2012 - Lapacho Vanilla Tea

One of my favorite teas, from T-Bar

Monday 15 October 2012

15 October 2012 - Quandongs

Quandongs (Santalum acuminatum) are a native Australian bush food,
a tart fruit with interestingly textured kernal.
The dark ones in this photo still have the dried fruit around the kernal,
the light ones are the bare kernals.

You can read all about them in the government's fact sheet

These are destined to restore native bushland habitat, not to be used as food.

14 October 2012 - Buttons

A late post for yesterday.

Saturday 13 October 2012

13 Oct 2012 - Filo Pastry & Photoshop

The filo pastry was from the top layer of a Spinach Slice
bought from Gormet To Go in Adelaide Central Market

Friday 12 October 2012

12 October 2012 - Weights on Yoga Mat

Good intentions! I had to wipe off the dust.

The avacado stone after one week,
I think this is as dark as it will get.

9 October 2012 - Torn Tissue & Photoshop

Spring = Hayfever Season
Thankfully I only get it in a mild way.
The background is an old singlet.

I had a little play with the image in Photoshop

The darkening avacado stone after 4 days

8 October 2012 - Gourmet Icecream

Delicious gourmet Kangaroo Island Honey & Fig Icecream

If you're going to rebel against your avoid-dairy & avoid bad cholesterol diet
you may as well do it in style.
Served up in one of the quondong-design bowls
that my Dad created.

The avacado stone continues dry out to get a little darker

7 Oct 2012 - Sunny Sunday Train Trip

Thanks to Deb and Chris for inviting me to lunch
with them at Blackwood up in the Adelaide Hills.
I went up on the Belair Train.
It was a beautiful sunny Sunday.
(Apologies for some of the wonky angles.)

On the way back to the city there was too much reflection for photos.

Meanwhile the avacado stone has got a bit darker
but is developing a serious crack.
